TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

ADDING YOUR INFORMATION

1. There is some info that you must enter  - this is to ensure the integrity of the database and also helps to stop spammers. Make note of the information on the form that is required. Typically this includes your First Name, Last Name, DOB, Street Address, City, State, Zip, and a Work Phone. SPAMMERS WILL BE DELETED - NO QUESTIONS ASKED!
   
   NOTE: We publish ALL information provided with the exception of your DOB, personal street address,  and zip. We do publish First Name, Last Name, Title, City, State, Region, Home Phone, Work Phone, and Cell Phone.
   
   COMPANY NAME: If you are not entering information for a company just leave this field blank otherwise whatever you enter will display in bold letters and you name will appear in 8pt type underneath.
   
   PHONE NUMBERS: The only phone number that is required is your work phone (this is so that we can contact you if there are any questions about the information you post). WE DO NOT RECOMMEND POSTING YOUR HOME PHONE NUMBER. IT CAN BE TRACED allowing anyone to find out where you live. If you would like your Home or Cell number removed email admin@dfwfilmcoop.com with a request to have them removed.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR HOME OR CELL PHONE NUMBERS PUBLISHED OMIT THEM OR USE A FREE PHONE LINE NUMBER.

2. Search the listings so that you can get an idea of what results are displayed. Make notes about the information that you want to appear on your listing.
    
3. Once you have an idea of what results are displayed go the the add listing form that best matches the type of listing you want to use.
    
4. IF you want to include photos you must have them available somewhere on the internet. Be sure to have the location of any photos handy as you fill out the form.
   
   SITES WHERE YOU CAN UPLOAD PHOTOS

                                          
   
   

   To obtain the URL of a photo:

   • Navigate to the photo (i.e. go to the place on the internet where the photo can be viewed now, like your Yahoo profile, or PhotoBucket, etc.
      
   • RIGHT CLICK on the photo you wish to use and select "Copy Image Location" in FireFox or "Properties" in Internet Explorer then copy the image URL on the properties page (SELECT the URL then press "CTRL + C " to copy).
      
   • Click the field on the form where you want to enter the image location then RIGHT CLICK and "PASTE" or "CTRL + V "
      
   Enter the rest of your information and submit the form.
   
   PHOTOS: Enter the URL including the http:// - If you copy the photo URL as described above it should work just fine.
   
   WEBSITE INFO: When you enter your website into, simply enter the address starting with "www"  ( i.e. www.yourwebsite.com )  DO NOT enter the "http://" portion of the address.
   
   EMAIL INFO: Simply enter your email address ( i.e. yourname@yourisp.com )
   
   Advanced Users: When entering information in to text boxes you may use HTML formatting commands such as <b></b> for bolding, <i></i> for italics, <u></u> for underline, <li> for list item, and <br> for break. This can make your information stand out on a page helping to get you noticed.
   
   If you want to enter information into multiple categories at one time use the UNIVERSAL ADD LISTING FORM. 
   
   COMPANY NAME or YOUR NAME: You are required to enter your "FIRST NAME" and "LAST NAME" in order to post information on the site. Generally if you are an independent contractor or an individual offering services you should only enter information in the "FIRST NAME" and "LAST NAME" fields.

   i.e. JOHN DOE
   
   If you are a business (or an individual posting as a business) and enter the name of your business in the "COMPANY NAME" field, the company name will appear first in BOLD type and your name will appear below. If you enter a company name it will appear above your first and last names, and your first and last  names will be in smaller print.
   
   i.e. ARCADE GRAPHICS
           John Doe
    

5. Do a search on your name, zip code, work phone, etc. and check to be sure the information is correct. If you cannot find your information enter it again making special note of the personal information you enter. Search again. If you still cannot find your info send and email to admin@dfwfilmcoop.com with detailed info and we will check to see if the info is in the database.

SEARCHING FOR INFORMATION

1. The search field searches several parameters at the same time so be selective about what you enter (see fields that are searched).
    
2. The more specific your search the fewer results you will receive.
    
3. Quotations may be used to narrow your search (i.e. "Line Producer" will yield fewer results than Line Producer entered without quotation marks)
    
4. Make sure you have spelled the term you are searching for correctly.

   Advanced Users: The above fields are searched simultaneously every time you enter a new search term. Because the information in each field tends to be more or less exclusive to that particular category, by choosing your search terms carefully you can narrow your search results significantly.
